About Us

Stewarts Care is a long-established voluntary organisation, funded by the HSE under Section 38. We support people with intellectual disabilities through residential care, day services, independent living, job advocacy, and vocational training.

 

Purpose of the Post

Reporting to Sailing Gateway Hub Lead, the Sailing Instructor will be on a Permanencontract and will be responsible for delivering and leading sailing courses and recreational/therapeutic sailing sessions for individuals attending the Stewarts Sailing Hub. This involves delivering instruction in sailing skills and safety, while delivering inclusive and enjoyable sessions that engage and inspire all participants.

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum sailing qualification of Day Skipper (e.g., Irish Sailing, Royal Yachting Association, International Certificate of Competency (ICC)) – with Yacht Master qualification desirable.
  • At least 3 years of post-qualification sailing experience including leading groups.
  • At least 2 years’ experience delivering instruction in sailing skills, techniques and safety.
  • Experience of delivering sailing instruction to people with disabilities or other groups with specific support needs.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Salary

In line with the Department of Health consolidated pay scales, the current salary scale is Workshop Instructor (6402) €40,521 - €54,705 per annum (including LSI).
