Job summary
The post holder acting as a Champion for Personal and Public Involvement (PPI), Partnership working and co-production will support and facilitate WHSCT in the development of a strategic and integrated approach to embedding PPI, partnership working and co-production into the culture, ethos and practice of the Trust and its Directorates.
The post holder will lead and assist on specific projects (e.g. development of Citizen Hubs,) ensuring that Trust staff, service users, carers and members of the public are involved in the design, planning and implementation programmes that improve the quality of care provided.
The post holder will support the co-ordination and consistency of plans being developed regionally and by the other Partner HSC organisations working to develop an affective and coherent teamwork approach across the H&SC system.
The post holder is responsible for driving enabling and facilitating the delivery of the Trust’s PPI in partnership with other stakeholders, community and voluntary sector and Service users, carers and the public.
Main responsibilities
Working closely with the Involvement team, guide and support the strategic and operational development, delivery, management and monitoring of the PPI agenda, partnership working and co-production practice within the WHSCT.
Support the development, delivery and co-ordination of education and training programmes to improve and enhance PPI, partnership working and co-production practice.
Provide specialist advice, guidance and support to Trust staff, service users and carers and other partners on the development and delivery of PPI, partnership working and co-production in the Western Trust.
Lead on the recruitment, selection and retention of a bank of service user/carer consultants embedded across Trust Directorates.
Provide operational direction, training, support and resources to enable service user/carer consultants to maximise the lived and living experience voice across the system.
Provide strategic and operational support for the development of Trust-based Citizen Hubs.
Actively promote the vision, ethos, concepts and practice of PPI, partnership working and co-production across all aspects of the Western Trust Business and with Key partners.
Challenge organisational and individual decision-making practice where PPI, partnership working and co-production is not evident and seeking improvement in practice where it is warranted.
Develop strong working links with stakeholders, internal and external, including the Trust’s PPI Forum members, service users, carers, advocates and the wider statutory, community and voluntary sectors.
Ensure effective communication and networking through the development of a robust communication plan and information processes and systems
Be responsible for the development of the Trust’s Co-production- PPI website and ensure that the progress and learning from PPI – Co-production projects is captured and available to all Trust staff and service users.
Lead on the development, implementation and evaluation of regional or local plans in response to identified needs and strategic priorities.
Support the progress and implementation of the WHSCT’s Pathfinder Project and advice on the implementation of the Trust’s Transformation Projects to ensure Service user/ carer and public involvement.
Work closely with the Trust’s PPI Forum members, representatives of the PHA, HSCB, LCGs, Trusts, other statutory agencies, service users, carers, advocates, Community and Voluntary organisations to ensure the delivery of identified priorities.
Prepare spending plans and report on spend against budget where budgets have been secured.
